CONTRIBUTIONS BY SLIET HEALTH CENTRE

More than 5000 students and 300 employees along with their family members are currently residing in the SLIET campus. The SLIET Health Centre is sincerely contributing to provide essential health related services to the students, employees, campus residents, workers 24×7. HIGHLIGHTS

COUNSELLING  SESSIONS

Online counselling sessions were conducted by Ms. Sherrain Rattan, visiting psychological counsellor on weekly basis during COVID. After physical reporting of students in the Institute, many emotional, psychological, and academic challenges are being faced by the students. The visiting psychological counsellor is actively involved in interacting with students. She visits Boys and Girls Hostels particularly to counsel the newly admitted students.

COUNSELLING SESSION IN GIRLS HOSTEL ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY (8TH MARCH, 2022)

TRAINING PROGRAM ON BASIC LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM
A session on Basic Life Support / CPR was organized by the Health Centre on 07.07.2022 at Mini Auditorium CSE Block. More than 50 students, faculty and staff participated in this event. They were educated and given the necessary skills and knowledge on how to provide required first aid during cardiopulmonary arrest in day-to-day life. Dr Vinay Singhal, Add. Director, Critical Care, and his team from Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana had given the training. It was an interactive and educative session which raised the knowledge and skill to carry out CPR.
BLOOD DONATION CAMPS
  • Blood donation camp was organized in collaboration with NCC SLIET, NCC Nabha and Civil Hospital Sangrur at Health Centre SLIET Longowal on 27.11.20222 from 11.30 AM to 03.30 PM.
  • The Blood donation camp was inaugurated by Honourable Director SLIET, Prof. Shailendra Jain, along with Prof. Rajesh Kumar Dean (Students Welfare).
  • A total of 72 units blood was donated in the camp, out of which 20 contributors were NCC Cadets, 42 student volunteers and 7 persons from faculty and staff members of SLIET longowal alongwith 3 cadets from ADC office, Mastuana Sahib. During the event refreshments was given to each donor along with certificate of blood donation by Blood Bank, Civil Hospital Sangrur.

DISTRIBUTION OF MEDICAL KITS
The students reported in the Institute in phased manner subsequent to the COVID-19 guidelines from Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for unlock. The medical staff took good care of students by distributing medical kits and giving suitable instructions for consuming medicines for boosting immunity.
